Can a restaurant have a drive-through in Macomb Township?

Not by right in C-1, C-2, or C-3. Restaurants are permitted in C-2 only with no drive-through service (Sec. 10.1602.B.11), and C-1 carry-out restaurants expressly exclude drive-through facilities (Sec. 10.1503.E). A drive-in or drive-through restaurant in C-2 is a special land use: the service window or call box must sit more than 300 feet from property zoned AG, R-1-S, R-1-E, R-1, R-2-L, R-2-H, or R-3, or be separated from those districts by a street with at least 120 feet of right-of-way, with nuisance controls on smoke, odor, and amplified sound (Sec. 10.1603.B.33).

In C-4, drive-in restaurants are permitted by right (Sec. 10.1802.C.6), and the FLX district can approve them as special land uses (Sec. 10.2703.F.2). Every drive-through use also needs 6 stacking spaces per service window in a dedicated 10 foot lane with a 10 foot emergency bypass (Sec. 10.0323.B.10), and general provisions add design standards for drive-through services (Sec. 10.0350).
