Yard signs in Troy fall under the temporary sign rules, and no permit is needed (City Code § 85.03.02). The limits:

- All temporary signs on a site may total 14 square feet
- Maximum height is 42 inches above grade
- Signs may not be in the right-of-way or on utility poles
- Signs must be at least 20 feet from the traveled road
