How do I request a variance?
File a written application with the Board of Zoning Appeals on the Board's forms with the fee (§15.05.010). A hearing must be held within 60 days of filing, and all adjoining owners of record (including across a street) get direct-mail notice (§15.05.020). The Board grants variances only on findings of fact under the §15.05 standards; a variance cannot rezone your property or authorize a prohibited use.
