Do I need special approval for my use in McKinney?

Check how Table 2-26: Table of Uses marks your use in your district. P means permitted by right; C means permitted by right but only if it meets additional use-specific criteria described elsewhere in Sec. 205; A means the use is allowed only as an accessory use; T means allowed only as a temporary use; S means the use needs a Specific Use Permit approved by City Council under Sec. 203C.3 before it can operate; and a blank cell means the use is prohibited in that district without a rezoning. A use not listed at all is prohibited unless the Director of Planning determines it materially similar to a listed use, or City Council approves it as a new and unlisted use by resolution. Start by confirming the zoning district through the city's zoning GIS layer or the Planning Department at 972-547-2000. This pack covers incorporated McKinney only; the ETJ and unincorporated Collin County have no municipal zoning.
