How does Rochester handle parking for outdoor dining?

For CBD outdoor dining, the Planning Commission determines whether extra parking is needed based on the outdoor seating size compared with indoor seating. Weather-permitting outdoor dining with seating for 30 or fewer patrons may be approved without additional parking. For larger or more permanent outdoor dining, 25 percent or less of indoor seating may need no additional parking, 26 to 50 percent may require parking up to 125 percent of the indoor-space requirement, and over 50 percent may require parking up to 150 percent of the indoor-space requirement.
