Is my property in the City of Maricopa or unincorporated Pinal County?
The City of Maricopa is a separate incorporated municipality inside Pinal County, Arizona, incorporated on October 15, 2003. It is not the same jurisdiction as Maricopa County (which lies to the north and has no zoning authority over the city of Maricopa). This pack applies only to the incorporated City of Maricopa's zoning code (Title 18 of the Maricopa City Code); land outside the city limits, even if it has a Maricopa mailing address, is unincorporated Pinal County and is zoned under the separate Pinal County Zoning Ordinance, not covered by this pack. The city's own zoning point-query GIS layer returns no result for points outside city limits (verified by a live negative test), which is one reliable, though not the only, way to check incorporation status. Confirm your parcel's incorporation status and jurisdiction on the city's official zoning map or with Development Services (520-568-9098), or with Pinal County Planning and Development if the parcel appears to be outside city limits.
