How tall can I build?
Height caps are in the same dimensional charts as setbacks. Most single-family districts allow 2.5 stories; SR and MF-2 allow 4 stories. C-1 and C-1a allow 5 stories, or 12 stories on IH-35 or SH-45 frontage, while C-2 and OF-1 are capped at 2 stories. Mixed-use districts range from 35 feet in MU-L up to 15 stories on MU-G freeway frontage. Accessory buildings in residential districts are capped at 15 feet. Start by confirming the zoning district on the city's interactive map (maps.roundrocktexas.gov/cityview) or with Planning and Development Services at 512-218-5428. This pack covers incorporated Round Rock only; ETJ and unincorporated county land have no municipal zoning.
