How tall can I build?
Chart 1 in Sec. 53-33(k) sets height limits: 35 feet in most single-family districts, 45 feet in A, UE, R-1-C, R-3-2, R-3-3, CBD-2, RS, W, CM, and E, and up to 100 feet for a main hospital building in HS. MXD and O/I allow 55 feet under their own divisions, with council approval by conditional use permit to exceed that. Sec. 53-33(c)(2) exempts spires, tanks, towers, and similar appurtenances and lets schools reach 60 feet and places of worship 75 feet with enlarged yards. Multifamily story caps also apply (two stories in R-3-1, three in R-3-2 and R-3-3). Kyle regulates zoning inside its incorporated city limits only; Texas counties do not zone, and the ETJ has no municipal zoning. Confirm the district, any overlay or PUD condition, and current ordinance text with the Kyle Planning Department before design, purchase, leasing, or permitting decisions.
