How tall can I build?
Every single-family district and AG cap the principal building at 35 feet. MD is also capped at 35 feet. MF, C-2, MU, and DT all allow up to 70 feet (DT is capped at 42 feet, and anything over 42 feet in DT, I-1, or I-2 needs a specific use permit). C-1 is capped at 25 feet and 15,000 square feet of building size. Accessory buildings citywide are capped at 18 feet (Sec. 9.04.038(d)(4)). Buildings with multiple stories taller than 35 feet in MF, C-2, MU, and DT must meet stepback standards in Sec. 9.04.041(h). Start by confirming your zoning district with the Development Services Department at 972-924-2616. This pack covers incorporated Anna city limits only; ETJ and unincorporated Collin County land have no municipal zoning.
