How much parking is required?
Parking is set by use in the Sec. 8-46 table. Single-family homes: 2 spaces per unit on lots platted before January 1, 2002, and 4 spaces per unit (2 garage-enclosed) in subdivisions platted 2002 or later. Townhouses need 4 per unit plus a 5 percent overage. Multifamily runs by bedroom count (MF-1: 1 space for 1 or 2 bedroom units, 2 for 3 or more bedrooms, garage enclosed). Nonresidential ratios vary by use, and shared or alternative parking plans can be approved under Sec. 8-47. Start by confirming the zoning district on the city's interactive map (maps.roundrocktexas.gov/cityview) or with Planning and Development Services at 512-218-5428. This pack covers incorporated Round Rock only; ETJ and unincorporated county land have no municipal zoning.
