How much parking is required?
Single-family and duplex dwellings need two covered, enclosed parking spaces per unit unless a specific district says otherwise (for example SF-Z requires only one). Multifamily needs one space per efficiency unit, two spaces for one- or two-bedroom units, plus one more space per additional bedroom. Nonresidential uses follow the Sec. 82-31(f) schedule keyed to use type, for example one space per 200 square feet of floor area for a retail store, one space per 300 square feet for a general office, or three spaces plus one per 200 square feet over 500 square feet for a business or professional office. Uses without a listed ratio fall under the Sec. 82-31(g) general-category table. Confirm your zoning district and use classification with Development Services, Planning and Zoning (972-736-2416). This pack covers incorporated Princeton only; ETJ and unincorporated Collin County land have no municipal zoning.
