How much parking is required?

One- and two-family homes need 2 spaces per unit on lots platted before March 1996 (3 spaces if 4 or more bedrooms), or 2 spaces per unit with 1 garage-enclosed on lots platted after March 1996 (4 spaces, 2 garage-enclosed, for 4 or more bedrooms) (Sec. 808.3.1(a)). Multi-family needs 1.5 spaces for each one-bedroom unit, 2 spaces for each two-bedroom unit, plus 0.5 spaces per additional bedroom, plus 10 percent extra for visitor parking (Sec. 808.3.1(b)). Garage stalls must be at least 9 by 18 feet (one-car) or 18 by 18 feet (two-car). Nonresidential ratios are set by specific use in the full Sec. 808.3 table; exact figures for every use category are review-gated in this pack. Confirm the current zoning district and applicable use ratio on the city's GIS zoning map or with the Building, Planning and Zoning Department (954-602-3200). This pack covers incorporated Miramar city limits only.
