How much parking is required?

Parking is set by use, not by district, in the Parking Standards column of Table 19: Use Table (Sec. 9.04.028). Single-family and two-family homes need 2 spaces per unit. Multi-family parking depends on bedroom count (for example 1 space for a 1-bedroom unit, 2 for larger units, plus 0.25 space per unit for visitors), with at least half of required parking covered. Commercial ratios vary by use: retail stores need 4 spaces per 1,000 square feet, offices need 3 per 1,000 square feet, and restaurants need 5 or 10 per 1,000 square feet depending on building size. General design and reduction standards are in Sec. 9.04.043. Start by confirming your zoning district and specific use with the Development Services Department at 972-924-2616. This pack covers incorporated Anna city limits only; ETJ and unincorporated Collin County land have no municipal zoning.
