Do I need special approval for my use?
Check the use tables first: uses marked P are permitted outright, PL uses must meet the limitation standards written in Section 4.3.9, and CU uses need a Conditional Use Permit from the Board of Zoning Appeals. The conditional use process requires a pre-application conference, a full application with plan exhibits, and a public hearing within 60 days of filing. Some uses (for example major home occupations or heavy manufacturing) have their own named permits layered on this process. Development plan review under Section 8.5.6 applies to most new construction regardless of use category.
