Can I use this property for retail?
It depends on the zoning district. NC allows a limited range of light retail and service uses at thoroughfare intersections on tracts up to two acres. C-1 permits retail, stores and shops, and personal service shops, plus discount/variety/department and food stores capped at 20,000 square feet each, all conducted wholly within an enclosed building. C-2 permits an expanded range of retail and service/repair uses (amended by Ordinance No. 2026-05-11-02). M-1 and M-2 allow some retail with predominantly outdoor storage or consumer loading. Retail is not permitted in residential districts. Confirm your zoning district and the exact use listing with Development Services, Planning and Zoning (972-736-2416). This pack covers incorporated Princeton only; ETJ and unincorporated Collin County land have no municipal zoning.
