Can I run a home-based business in Queen Creek?

Yes, as an accessory use in any residential district, subject to the performance standards in Sec. 6.4. The business must use no more than 25 percent of the home's gross floor area, be operated by a full-time resident, keep any exterior sign to 3 square feet or less and non-illuminated, and limit customers to about 5 per day between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (5 or fewer for lessons). Only one non-resident employee is allowed, and only on lots zoned R1-35 or larger. All storage and equipment must stay inside an enclosed building, with no hazardous materials, and parking must stay in the driveway or garage with no overnight on-street parking. Home day care is capped at 6 children in any district, or 12 in R1-35 and larger districts.
