Can I run a home business here?
Yes, as a conditional use in every base residential district, subject to the home occupation standards in Sec. 106.05.02.2(k). The business must be clearly incidental and secondary to the residential use, with no exterior alteration and no signage visible from outside the dwelling. Only residents may work on site; outside employees trigger a required annual certificate of occupancy from the building official. No exterior storage of materials, equipment, or a fleet of three or more business vehicles is allowed, and on-site sales of merchandise are prohibited except incidental sales and on-premises-grown produce. Traffic and parking generated must stay within what is normal for a residential neighborhood, accommodated in the driveway, garage, or street frontage of the lot. Start by confirming the zoning district with Development Services (Town Hall, 2nd Floor, 100 W. Eldorado Pkwy., Little Elm, TX 75068). This pack covers the incorporated Town of Little Elm only; the ETJ and unincorporated Denton County have no municipal zoning.
