All districts

A home occupation is a business conducted by a resident that is clearly incidental and secondary to the residential use, with no exterior alteration. No approval is needed unless the business employs anyone other than residents, in which case an annual certificate of occupancy is required from the building official (Sec. 106.05.02.2(k)(3)). Rules include no visible signage, no outdoor storage of materials or fleet vehicles (three or more vehicles), no on-site sales of merchandise except incidental sales and on-site-grown produce, and no traffic beyond what is normal for a residential neighborhood (Sec. 106.05.02.2(k)(4)). The use table (Article V, Table A) marks "Home occupation" as a conditional use (C) in every base residential district listed: SF-RE, SF-1, SF-2, SF-3, SF-4, A-1, A-2, SF-X, TH, MH-1, D, and MF.
