Can I run a home business in Forney?

Yes, within the Home-Based Business limits of Sec. 46.2. The business must be run by the resident owner or tenant, cause no visible change to the home's residential appearance, and stay within these caps: no more than 2 non-resident employees on site at a time, no more than 4 patrons and 2 patron/business vehicles at once, operating hours 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. outdoors and 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. indoors, no outside storage or display, no advertising signage calling attention to the business, and no ready inventory for sale unless it is made or assembled on site. Uses not separately addressed qualify if they meet the state's No-Impact Home-Based Business standard (Sec. 46.4). Animal hospitals and kennels, alcohol sales, on-site food or beverage consumption, transportation/automotive uses, light industrial or manufacturing uses, and sexually oriented businesses are never allowed as home-based businesses (Sec. 46.5).
