Can I run a home business here?

Home occupations are a conditional use in all residential districts (DR, ES, SR, SU, UR, MF) and in MU, PA, and EC (Table 11.02.063), which means they are allowed if you meet the Sec. 11.02.092(30) conditions: the business stays entirely inside the dwelling or one accessory garage building; only family members who live there may work on the premises; customer traffic is capped at three vehicle trips per day; no direct selling of merchandise on site (direct marketing is fine); no visible storage of equipment or materials; and no explosive materials or vehicles with more than two axles. Certain businesses are excluded outright, including animal boarding and grooming, clinics, massage therapy, tattoo or piercing studios, restaurants, rental outlets, and vehicle repair. If your business fits the conditions, confirm any permit requirements with the Planning Division.
