Can I run a home business here?

Yes, in every residential district. A Home-Based Business is permitted by right (P-18) in AG through R-MH, in B-1 through B-3, and in the form districts, subject to Sec. 2.06.06 condition 18: it must stay incidental to the home, occupy no more than 500 square feet or 10 percent of the dwelling area (whichever is greater), and it may use an accessory structure. There can be no change to the home's outside appearance, no signs on the property, no displayed merchandise, no extra neighborhood traffic, no outside storage, and no off-lot noise, vibration, glare, fumes, or interference; parking must be off street and outside the required front yard. Beauty schools and parlors, barber shops, vehicle repair, engine repair, and boarding houses are expressly excluded. Some activity may also need a Certificate of Occupancy or other city licenses; confirm specifics with Development Services.
