Can I build a fence in Queen Creek?
Yes, subject to Sec. 5.2. Front yard fences are capped at 36 inches, or 48 inches if the portion above 36 inches is an open material like wrought iron; parcels zoned R1-43 or larger get a 6 foot front yard allowance under narrower conditions. Side and rear yard fences are capped at 6 feet from the highest adjacent grade (up to 8 feet on a sloped lot with berming, plus a required 2 foot view-fence section above 6 feet on the low side). Barbed wire, wire mesh, and chain link are prohibited everywhere in town. Fences over 6 feet need an Arizona registered structural engineer's design.
