Can I build a fence?

Yes, subject to district rules. Chapter 53 defines a privacy fence as an opaque fence at least six feet high (Sec. 53-5). Commercial or industrial development abutting residential property must install solid screening fences between six and eight feet with landscaping (Sec. 53-484 and parallel sections). In NC and CC districts, fences in front yards are capped at three feet with solid portions no more than two feet, and chain link, sheet metal, plastic, vinyl, and barbed wire are prohibited (Secs. 53-664, 53-671). Manufactured home parks need a perimeter fence (Sec. 53-384(6)). Confirm permit requirements under the building regulations chapter and any subdivision or HOA restrictions before building. Kyle regulates zoning inside its incorporated city limits only; Texas counties do not zone, and the ETJ has no municipal zoning. Confirm the district, any overlay or PUD condition, and current ordinance text with the Kyle Planning Department before design, purchase, leasing, or permitting decisions.
