Can I build a fence in Buckeye?

Yes, subject to Sec. 5.4.6. For single-family homes, a fence or wall between the house and the front property line is capped at 3.5 feet, or 6 feet if it is in line with or behind the house. Side and rear fences for single-family and multi-family lots are capped at 6 feet; commercial and industrial side and rear walls are capped at 8 feet (up to 10 feet with Zoning Administrator authorization to screen service or storage areas). Perimeter walls around platted residential subdivisions can reach 8 feet next to arterial or higher streets and 6 feet next to collector or lower streets. Long fence runs need articulation: no more than 200 feet unbroken facing an arterial or higher street, or 100 feet facing any other public street. Chain-link fencing is prohibited on commercial and residential sites except for sport courts and temporary construction security, and is allowed in industrial districts only where not visible from public right-of-way. No fence or wall may sit inside the public right-of-way. Confirm details with Planning and Zoning at 623-349-6200. This pack covers incorporated Buckeye only.
