All districts

Single-family residential front yard: fences and walls between the principal structure and the front property line are capped at 3.5 feet; a fence in line with or behind the principal structure may be up to 6 feet. Multi-family, commercial, and industrial front walls may be up to 6 feet (up to 10 feet with Zoning Administrator authorization to screen service or storage areas). Side and rear: single-family and multi-family are capped at 6 feet; commercial and industrial are capped at 8 feet (up to 10 feet with authorization). Perimeter walls around platted residential subdivisions may reach 8 feet adjacent to arterial or higher streets, 6 feet adjacent to collector or lower streets. Fences over 200 feet (arterial-facing) or 100 feet (other streets) must be articulated. Chain-link fencing is prohibited on commercial and residential sites except for sport courts and temporary construction security, and is allowed in industrial districts only if not visible from public right-of-way. No fence or wall may be placed within the public right-of-way.
