All districts

Rear yard fences may not exceed 8 feet (10 feet around a tennis court); side yard fences may not exceed 8 feet (Sec. 3.704(a), (b)). Front yard fences must be decorative (wrought iron, wood or masonry, not wire, mesh or chain link), capped at 3 feet above finished grade, at most 50 percent solid with no solid massing wider than 6 inches except at corners or posts, and must keep visual clearance at corner lots for at least 30 feet on each street (Sec. 3.704(c)). On reverse frontage corner lots, a fence in the side yard adjacent to a front yard may not sit closer than 15 feet to the side property line or exceed 8 feet (Sec. 3.704(d)). Electrically charged fences are prohibited in residential zoning except for livestock restraint or single-strand wire within 3 feet of ground level (Sec. 3.705(a)).
