Accessory structures follow Sec. 14.03.201 general rules unless a specific accessory structure type in Sec. 14.03.202 supersedes them. Patios and other flatwork need a building permit and must sit at least 3 feet from any property line (2 feet for AC pads, trash cans, walkways, or pool equipment); paving citywide is capped at 20 percent of lot coverage including the driveway (Sec. 14.03.202(c)). In-ground pools must be at least 5 feet from any property line, retaining wall, or building, and may not sit in the front yard (Sec. 14.03.202(d)).
