Residential fences in rear and side setbacks are capped at 8 feet and must be wood, wrought iron, masonry, or similar permanently affixed material. In the front setback only fences up to 3 feet are allowed, except lots over 20,000 square feet may have up to 6 feet of wrought iron or similar; any front fence over 3 feet must be wrought iron or similar. Nonresidential fences run 6 to 8 feet and must be masonry or approved equivalent, finished on both sides. Barbed wire, razor wire, and electric fences are prohibited outside agricultural and limited industrial or security settings, and fences may not impede drainage or sight triangles (Sec. 14.07.007).
