One-story sheds and playhouses of 80 square feet or less, ponds, above-ground pools under 24 inches deep and 5,000 gallons, and play equipment need no building permit; accessory buildings over 80 square feet, swimming pools, and most decks do (Sec. 11.04.031). In the MF, UR, and MU districts accessory buildings are capped at one story and 16 feet. Accessory buildings over 180 square feet that are visible from the street and not behind a privacy fence need at least 50 percent primary materials.
