Accessory Dwelling Units are a permitted accessory use in AG and every single-family district (SF-20.0 through SF-6.0), in MD, and in the Downtown Neighborhood (ND) zone only. They are not listed as a permitted use in MF, C-1, C-2, MU, Downtown Core (CE), I-1, or I-2. A detached ADU must be at the rear of the lot, must meet the base district's setbacks, may not exceed the height of the primary dwelling, must be between 500 and 1,000 gross square feet, must connect utilities to the primary dwelling, and the property owner must occupy either the principal dwelling or the ADU as a permanent residence.
