What is the minimum lot size for each residential district in Rochester Hills?

Minimum lot size depends on the district (§ 138-5.100, Table 6):

  • RE: 43,560 square feet, 120 feet wide
  • R-1: 20,000 square feet, 100 feet wide
  • R-2: 15,000 square feet, 100 feet wide
  • R-3: 12,000 square feet, 90 feet wide
  • R-4: 9,600 square feet, 80 feet wide

In R-5, single-family lots need 6,000 square feet of lot area and 50 feet of width per unit (§ 138-6.700). In RM-1, a duplex needs 6,000 square feet of lot area per unit, and structures with three or more units need at least half an acre and 150 feet of width (§ 138-6.100, § 138-6.101).
