How tall can I build?

Height caps are set per district in UDC 2.04. The Agricultural and SF-E districts allow up to two and a half stories, not to exceed 40 feet; SF-15 and SF-10 are capped at two stories and 40 feet; Townhome is capped at 40 feet; Multifamily (MF, which must be developed through a Planned Development) allows up to 110 feet; Office is capped at 40 feet; Commercial is capped at 40 feet; and Industrial allows up to 100 feet, with additional setback from residential districts required above 40 feet. Accessory buildings and detached garages can never exceed the height of the primary dwelling (UDC 2.14.O.2). PD-zoned property follows the height limit in its individual granting ordinance. Start by confirming the zoning district on the Town's MapLink zoning map (pr6834.zoninghub.com/zoningmap.aspx) or with the Planning Division at 972-346-3502. This pack covers incorporated Prosper only; the ETJ and unincorporated Collin or Denton County land have no municipal zoning.
