How tall can I build?

Height caps sit in each district's height and area regulations. Most residential districts (A, SF-E, SF-SE, SF-1, SF-2, TF, SF-Z, SF-TH, MH-1, MH-2, MF-1) cap principal buildings at 35 feet; MF-2 allows 45 feet (3 stories max). Commercial NC and C-1 allow 40 feet; C-2 allows 35 feet. Industrial M-1 and M-2 allow 50 feet, or up to 80 feet with extra setback (one additional foot of setback for every two feet of height above 45 feet). PD district height is set entirely in that PD's granting ordinance. Start by confirming your zoning district on the city's zoning map or interactive map (princetontx.gov/315/Maps-of-Princeton) or with Development Services, Planning and Zoning (972-736-2416). This pack covers incorporated Princeton only; ETJ and unincorporated Collin County land have no municipal zoning.
