How tall can I build?

Residential Use Districts (RR through MXR) generally cap the principal building at 35 feet, rising to 50 or 60 feet with a Conditional Zoning District (Table 2.2.1-A). Commercial & Mixed-Use Districts range from 45 feet and 3 stories (NMX, DMX) up to 55 feet and 5 stories in RMX (110 feet and 10 stories with a Conditional Zoning District) and 60 feet in CB (Table 2.2.2-A). Employment/Campus Use Districts range from 45 feet in IVMX (100 feet with a CD) to 100 feet in BRT, while SP and HI have no default maximum and must be set through the Conditional Zoning District that creates them (Table 2.2.3-A). Confirm the parcel's Base District and any CD conditions with Development Services (311 or 919-577-3111) before relying on this pack's numbers.
