How much parking is required?
Parking is set by use type in LDC Table 155.605, not by zoning district alone. A single-family home needs 2 spaces per unit (16 by 20 feet); a two-family home needs 2 spaces per unit; multi-family and townhouse units need 2 spaces per unit for one or two bedrooms or 2.5 spaces per unit for three or more bedrooms, plus 2.5 guest spaces per 10 units. General retail and general office uses need 3.5 spaces per 1,000 square feet; restaurants need 10 spaces per 1,000 square feet (5 per 1,000 square feet of customer service area for outdoor dining); limited-service hotels need 1 space per room. Many other use types (schools, medical uses, recreation, industrial) have their own ratios in the same table. Confirm the exact ratio for your specific use with Planning and Economic Development at 954-450-1060.
