How much parking is required in McKinney?
Parking is set by use in UDC Table 2-9, not by district. A single-family detached home needs 4 spaces per unit, at least 2 enclosed and on-site (up to 2 may be provided off-site in an HOA-maintained common area within 500 feet). A manufactured home needs 1 space per unit. Fractional space requirements of 0.5 or more round up. Non-residential uses each carry their own ratio in Table 2-9; those figures beyond the residential ratios read this session are review-gated pending cell-by-cell verification of that table. Shared parking arrangements between multiple uses on one site are allowed under Table 2-10: Shared Parking. Start by confirming the zoning district through the city's zoning GIS layer or the Planning Department at 972-547-2000. This pack covers incorporated McKinney only; the ETJ and unincorporated Collin County have no municipal zoning.
