How much parking is required?
Single household dwellings need 2 off-street spaces, and a house plus accessory unit needs 1.5 spaces per dwelling (UDC 10.405.9.1). Commercial uses carry both minimums and maximums: typical retail and office at 1 space per 400 sq. ft. GFA minimum and 1 per 200 sq. ft. maximum, restaurants and bars at 1 per 150 minimum and 1 per 75 maximum, light industrial at 1 per 1,000 sq. ft. Parking and driveways may cover no more than 33 percent of a residential front yard (UDC 10.405.8.4). Old Town parcels use the separate OT parking standards (UDC 10.503.7). Confirm the exact table row for your use with the Development Services Department.
