How tall can a house be in Rochester Hills?

RE, R-1 and R-2: maximum 2 stories and 35 feet. R-3 and R-4: Base maximum is 2 stories and 30 feet. On lots at least 13,500 square feet, height may reach 35 feet only if each minimum side yard and the combined side-yard minimum increase by 0.5 foot for each foot or fraction above 30, and the height does not exceed 190% of the existing dwelling on a lot with a common side lot line. Height is capped at 24 feet on lots 60 feet wide or less OR where the side yard is reduced under footnote D (§ 138-5.101.P).

R-5 maximum is 2.5 stories and 35 feet (§ 138-6.700.C). Attached accessory structures are limited to the lower of district maximum and principal-building height; detached accessory structures have their separate standards.
