What are the fence rules for a Rochester residential property?
A fence over 18 inches requires a permit. Residential fences may be solid up to 6 feet and chainlink up to 4 feet, but a fence over 18 inches cannot be built nearer to the street than the front building line unless another specific rule allows it. Corner-clearance and pool rules can also apply.
