Do I need special approval for my use in Surprise?
It depends how the use is classified in the district's use table and whether it needs a use permit. Surprise's review process (LDO Chapter 102) sets out procedure types by application (Sec. 102-2.1), including administrative and temporary use permits as a Type 1 application (Sec. 102-4.4). Some newer housing types are addressed separately in the Middle Housing chapter (Chapter 112). Confirm how your specific use is classified and whether a use permit, site plan review, or rezoning applies with Community Development, Planning and Zoning (623-222-3000). This pack covers incorporated Surprise only.
