Do I need special approval for my use?
Check how LDC Table 155.501 marks your specific use type in your zoning district. P/S means the use is allowed but must follow specific use regulations found elsewhere (for example child care centers, hotels, and service stations each have their own Article 5 section, while "Home Based Businesses" cross-references section 120.02 in a different chapter of the Code of Ordinances). SE means the use needs a special exception through the process at LDC 155.301(M) before it is allowed at all. A blank cell means the use is not permitted in that district without a rezoning. Uses not listed in the table at all are evaluated by the Planning and Economic Development Department Director for compatibility, with an appeal path to the Planning and Zoning Board (LDC 155.501(A)(3)). Confirm with Planning and Economic Development at 954-450-1060 before committing to a use.
