Can I use this property for retail?
It depends on the district: retail is generally oriented to the urban center and corridor districts (CD-5, CD-5C, CD-4C, parts of CD-4) and SD-INT near the interstate, while the neighborhood districts (CD-2, CD-3L, CD-3) are residential in character. Table 4.3.9.A-1 assigns each retail use a P, PL, or CU designation per district, and the form standards of the district table (frontage type, build-to, ground floor standards) still apply. A change of use can also trigger parking and certificate of occupancy review, so confirm the exact use row and process with Development Services.
