A home occupation must be clearly incidental and secondary to the residential occupancy of the dwelling and must be operated by a resident of the dwelling. A maximum of 25 percent of the gross floor area of the dwelling may be used for the home occupation. Per the Town's homeowner permit guidance, a home occupation may employ a maximum of 2 full-time-equivalent non-resident employees on premises, and no signage, goods, or advertising may be visible from the exterior of the dwelling. A development permit is required. Home occupations are allowed only as an accessory use, not a primary use, in the residential and mixed-use districts (Sec. 2.3.3 use table).
