Fence and wall height limits by use: single-family residential 4 feet maximum in the front yard, 6 feet maximum in the side and rear yards. Multifamily, commercial, and mixed-use: 8 feet maximum in the front yard, 4 feet maximum in the side and rear yards, or up to 10 feet with Administrator approval. Industrial: 6 feet maximum in any yard. Fences and walls in a sight visibility triangle may not exceed 36 inches. Permitted materials are masonry, stone, architectural block, stucco on masonry, and stained or painted wood or composite material of similar solid appearance; vinyl fences are not permitted. Solid, opaque fences are not permitted in front yards, and the finished side of the fence must face the lower-intensity adjoining use. Fences may encroach into required setbacks but are still subject to the sight-triangle height limit (Sec. 4.3(E)).
