All districts

Accessory uses, buildings, or structures are permitted in any district where the primary use is a permitted use, and never on a lot without a primary building. In residential districts, the total floor area of all detached accessory buildings on a lot may not exceed 50 percent of the primary dwelling's finished floor area (100 percent on RR lots over 2 acres). The maximum number of detached accessory buildings on a residential lot is 2 (not applicable in RR). Detached accessory buildings are permitted only in rear and side-interior yards. Accessory buildings/structures under 144 sq ft need a 5-foot setback in most residential districts (3 feet in NR/NCR/MXR); 144 sq ft or larger need 10 feet in RR, 6 feet in SR, and 5 feet in NR/NCR/MXR.
