Parking in Fuquay-Varina, NC

What the Fuquay-Varina zoning ordinance says about parking, district by district. Section numbers link to the official ordinance.

All districts

Single-family detached dwellings require 2 off-street parking spaces per dwelling. General office uses require 1 space per 400 square feet of gross floor area. General retail uses require 1 space per 350 square feet of gross floor area, or a minimum of 5 spaces. Minimum parking bay dimensions are 9 feet wide by 18 feet long for both residential and nonresidential parking, with a 24-foot travel lane. In the Residential Mixed-Use (RMU), Commercial Mixed-Use (CMU), and Employment Mixed-Use (EMU) districts, parking may be governed by market demand rather than a fixed minimum ratio. Exact ratios for every other use category (multi-family, restaurant, industrial, and others) are review-gated pending a full read of the Sec. 9-1652 table; confirm the ratio for a specific use with the Planning Department at 919-552-1429.
