The sign and commercial building lighting section permits necessary directional or regulatory traffic signs up to 2 square feet each. It prohibits moving or flashing parts, lights, or devices around windows or doors, and lighting with motion or the impression of motion (Section 5.22-4).

At residential property lines, exterior site lighting may not exceed 0.1 footcandle; at nonresidential property lines, it may not exceed 0.5 footcandle. Light intensity may not exceed 10 footcandles in any area, and fixtures generally may not exceed 20 feet in height or 15 feet next to residential areas (Section 5.22-4-1).
