All districts

Home occupations are allowed in the one-family residential districts with strict limits (Section 4.2): only residents of the home may work in the business; no more than 20 percent of the dwelling's floor area (excluding the basement) may be used; no outside appearance change, outdoor storage, or commercial equipment; no sales of goods except what the occupation produces; no extra traffic or parking beyond normal residential levels; and hours limited to 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The business may not operate in any accessory structure, garage, breezeway, porch, patio, or pool area (Section 4.2.E). Firearm sales can qualify only with federal ATF and Shelby Township Police Department approvals (Section 4.2.L).
