All districts
A one- or two-family dwelling needs 2 parking spaces per unit (§ 138-11.204, Table 15). Parking must be on the premises, on a parking strip, driveway, or in a garage. No front-yard parking except in a driveway or garage (§ 138-11.102.D).
- Allowed driveway surfaces: asphalt, concrete, brick pavers, gravel, aggregate, or similar materials (§ 138-11.102.D).
- A standard space is 10 by 18 feet. Residential tandem spaces are allowed at 10 feet wide; a garage plus driveway tandem needs 50 feet of combined length (§ 138-11.302).
- Multiple-family: 1.5 spaces per unit with two or fewer bedrooms, 2 per unit with three or more, plus 0.5 visitor spaces per unit; garage and driveway spaces do not count toward the visitor minimum (§ 138-11.204, Table 15).
- Commercial headline ratios: retail 1 per 300 square feet, office 1 per 350, restaurants 1 per 2 persons at maximum occupancy (§ 138-11.204, Table 15).
