  • Only residents of the dwelling may work in the business; outside employees are not permitted on site (Section 2.06.A.4).
  • Traffic and parking may grow by at most one additional vehicle at a time, and no more than ten customers or clients per day may visit; parking demand must be met off the street and outside the required front yard (Section 2.06.A.5).
  • No outdoor display or storage, no change to the home's residential appearance, no equipment that alters the structure's fire rating, and no nuisance beyond ordinary residential levels (Section 2.06.A.2, 3, 6, 8).
  • Signage is one non-illuminated wall nameplate up to 1 square foot (Section 2.06.A.7).

Section 2.06.A.9 prohibits a long list outright: medical clinics; general-practice offices of a doctor, lawyer, accountant, insurance or real estate agent, or veterinarian; barbershops and beauty parlors; vehicle and engine repair; landscape, lawn, and snow removal businesses; concrete and excavation contractors; antique shops; restaurants; repair shops; bed and breakfasts; and more, and the list is expressly not exhaustive. The business also may not operate from a garage or other accessory building (Section 2.03.D.4). If clients will visit, describe the plan to Planning Services at 734-394-5170 before committing.
